It’s been a very busy few weeks for me personally workwise. I’ve been lucky enough to attend well respected training for IV Vitamin Infusions in Essex and several interesting and exciting conferences and seminars around the country.
Normally at these events I try to pick up expert tips about treatments I already offer but I’m always keen to explore what’s new and working well in other clinics. NOT, I hasten to add, because I’m a good business woman but because I’m the wrong side of 50, fundamentally quite (ok, very) lazy and I’m ever hopeful of an affordable ‘miracle’ to easily transform me to a better version of myself. I genuinely only want to offer treatments that deliver great results so I make it my mission to travel the UK and try out what I hope to be the best, effective value for money upcoming treatments. (I’m also a sap for internet advertising – will let you know about the bulge hiding camisole & cellulite busting silicone cups as soon as they arrive).
I’ve already had IV Vitamin drips and I loved them! They are however for the fortunate few with a healthy budget. At a starting price of £195 for an amazing wellness booster, I appreciate that for most of us with a hangover, a McDonald’s breakfast and a can of Irn Bru is a more realistic option. If you’ve not tried this Scottish cure then I can highly recommend it. However if you are a serious jet setter or athlete and work long hours it could literally be a life saver so I have no regrets about becoming qualified to offer the treatment even though I know it won’t be a big seller in my clinic in Stoke on Trent.
What I was very hopeful about was FAT FREEZING – £300, on special offer, for one treatment area to achieve permanent and pain free removal of fat cells. Just lie there for an hour and blast that belly. What’s not to like? The other treatment I’ve been asked a lot about recently is the HIFU face lift. Marketed as a one off treatment with results similar to surgery that last up to 2 years. Although expensive (and painful) at £500, could it really achieve a dramatic result? Again fortune was on my side and a met a lady whose clinic in Birmingham offered both these amazing treatments. I could hardly contain my excitement as I booked myself in. If this was for real then I’d be having it for Epworth House clients.
I have been for both last week. To be fair I was over keen to try them and didn’t ask much beforehand. I hadn’t realised that I could expect to see NO RESULTS from either treatment for approx. two months. Value for money? Who knows yet, I’m not discrediting the clinic in any way, hell if I’m a slender looking 35 year old in two months then it’ll be the best money I’ve ever spent. Until then I’ll stick with Slimming World and a decent skin care regime and let you know in due course. I have taken plenty of ‘before’ pictures but naturally would rather die than share them until I’ve got fabulous ‘after’ ones.
This whole experience got me to thinking about FEAR. In my case it was fear of wasting money, fear of investing in a treatment that wouldn’t give my clients a great result and fear of being taken for a fool. If I’d known how painful HIFU was going to be I’d have been scared of that too! The Merz conference I attended on Monday this week had fab information looking at real British research of a typical woman’s journey to visiting an aesthetic clinic for the first time.
Turns out some of us are thinking about it for 10 years before we make an appointment. And the most common reason? It’s fear.
Who can you trust? Who will listen to what you want instead of telling you what you need? What if it goes wrong and you hate it? What will your family and friends think if they find out? What if it’s a big waste of money? How painful will it be?
I know I want the very best value and results for my clients, I know I want them to enjoy coming to Epworth House in a no pressure, friendly environment. I know I couldn’t sleep if I offered a rubbish treatment. My existing clients know that too but how can I shorten your journey from 10 years to the near future without fear?
Hopefully knowing that I try every single treatment out myself before I offer it will give you some confidence in me. I live in Hartshill, I’m a midwife and a prescriber registered with the NMC (well insured!) and I’d love to meet you. Consultations are free, as are chats on the phone. I use the most up to date pain reducing methods, including freezing for fillers and will always be honest about what to expect. You genuinely will have no pressure to buy, in fact you will be encouraged to come for a chat then go home and think about your options. I’m flexible with appointments and am happy to do evenings if that suits.
COMING UP NEXT MONTH – RESULTS OF TWO TRIAL TREATMENTS ON MY OWN BACKS OF HANDS AND VAMPIRE FACE LIFTS!
